Today we launched our five-day, District-wide bus tour with a kick-off in downtown Arlington Heights. Mayor Arlene Mulder and State Representative Sid Mathias joined us as I outlined my plan to grow small business and create jobs. After this event Representative Mathias joined us to visit with voters in Buffalo Grove and to meet with members of our Indian community coalition.
This afternoon we walked the Commercial Avenue Business Park in Northbrook, listening to business owners and employees of several businesses along the way. We ended the afternoon with a tour of a manufacturer of complex and ultra-high-precision, custom machine components.
We stopped at a few train stations throughout the day, talking to commuters coming and going. We finished the day with an “ice-cream” tour and stops at Dairy Queens around the district to talk to families out enjoying a summer night.
There was great energy on the bus today. I thank all our supporters who came out to see us.
