"Let's Get to Work!" Bus Tour - Day Two

Our second day of the “Let’s Get to Work” Bus Tour took us all over the district again.  We started early at train stations in Glenview and then spent a big chunk of the day in Waukegan.

We visited several small businesses, talking to the owners and employees.  We visited a fantastic organization called FIST (Former Inmates Striving Together) that helps former prisoners rehabilitate their lives and find not just a job, but a vocation and a chance to build a better future.

We ate well.  First at El Famous Burrito in Waukegan, then at Big Ed’s BBQ in North Chicago and finally back in Waukegan at Taqueria Toluca, where we watched the start of the Mexico v. France World Cup soccer game.

We moved on to Libertyville, where the row of Milwaukee Avenue businesses were bustling as usual and everyone was preparing for Libertyville Days this weekend.

We spent most of our evening in Highland Park, and listened to music in Port Clinton Square.  It was another beautiful summer night in the 10th District.
