Robert Dold Wins!

On February 2nd Robert Dold won the Republican Primary for US Congress from the Illinois 10th District.  Already considered a Top-5 Congressional race in November, the press coverage has been heavy, and very favorable for Dold.

Dold Wins Republican Nomination in 10th Convincingly

"This is the right guy." That was the assertion of Judy Dold, the mother of the new Republican candidate for the 10th Congressional District, Robert Dold.  With 99 percent of the vote counted, Dold had 19,138 votes (37.9 percent) to 15,738 (31.2 percent) for State Rep. Elizabeth Coulson.

In his gracious victory speech, Dold stressed that he ran a positive campaign that resonated with voters. He thanked his republican opponents for elevating the debate and said he would need their support to help keep the 10th District in Republican hands.

Dold, Seals Will Face Off In 10th District

Democrat Dan Seals will get a third chance at a 10th Congressional seat and newcomer Robert Dold upended a seasoned state legislator in Tuesday's GOP primary.

Dold, a small-business owner and attorney from Kenilworth making his first run at public office, rode a relentless ground campaign - including 60 stops on a tour bus the last few days - to defeat state Rep. Beth Coulson, who conceded defeat.
