FACT: Bob is a fierce advocate for the environment and Lake Michigan, the 5th largest body of fresh water in the world. He is an Eagle Scout who grew up next to Lake Michigan and understands the significant of protecting our natural resources for generations to come.
FACT: Bob has met with environmental leaders like the Alliance for Great Lakes, to learn about the challenges facing not only Lake Michigan but the District’s wetlands and open lands as well.
FACT: As a Member of Congress Bob is committed to continuing the current bi-partisan efforts and work of the Great Lakes Task Force to ensure Lake Michigan remains free from sewage and to protect against invasive, non-native species.
FACT: Bob supports and will encourage the development of a diverse portfolio of energy sources, starting with nuclear power and natural gas and including wind, solar, geothermal and biomass to lower our dependence on foreign oil and to decrease pollution to our environment.
