The New Trier Republican Organization Saturday endorsed Robert Dold for the 10th Congressional District, one of seven candidates seeking the seat Mark Kirk is leaving to run for U.S. Senate. The group also backed both Andy McKenna and Dan Proft for governor, after a tie vote in the second round of voting. And it endorsed Jim Dodge for comptroller, over Judy Baar Topinka, and Kirk for Senate.

The Northfield Township Republican Organization Saturday did not make endorsements in the 10th Congressional District, governor or comptroller races. No candidate received the requisite two-thirds vote. The group backed Gregg Goslin for Cook County Board.

The Wheeling Township Republican Organization also failed to make an endorsement for the 10th Congressional District, splitting its votes between Dold and William Cadigan.

Dold previously had picked up the endorsement of the Elk Grove Township Republican Organization. "Our message of cutting government spending, creating jobs and lowering taxes is resonating with voters across the district," he stated.
