Nancy Pelosi and her fellow Congressional leaders continue their spendthrift ways, while average Americans tighten their belts to make ends meet. In an effort to “hide the ball” on their reckless mortgaging of our economic future, Congress intends to increase the statutory debt limit by a staggering $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion. This is an increase from the existing limit of $12.1 trillion.
Reid and Pelosi have pushed us to our tipping point, and instead of stopping to repair the damage that’s already been done, they’re allowing an even larger gap to make way for more reckless spending.
“As a small business owner, my bank provides strict limits on my ability to borrow,” said Robert Dold, Candidate for the 10th Congressional District. “These days those limits are being tightened. It is outrageous and irresponsible for Congress to play by a different set of rules than the average American by continuing to sponge from the savings accounts of our children.”
Dold continued, “Every dollar of debt Congress incurs is an increase in the mortgage on our children’s future. In this case, the mortgage is going to pay for wasteful spending, on politically motivated programs.”
When elected, Robert Dold vowed to bring the common sense voice of small business to Congress. Dold, a fiscal conservative, believes in personal responsibility and accountability. He is running to put an end to government waste of our taxpayer dollars and get people back to work in the 10th District.
Dold stressed the importance of reducing the deficit immediately without raising the ceiling. “Now more than ever, we need to start making tough decisions in Washington and hold Congress accountable. It’s time to cut up the government’s credit card and say enough is enough.”
