“There has been much debate about whether the Stimulus has worked or not, but I think the debate misses the real question, which is whether it was the right and sound policy in the first place to mortgage our children’s futures by printing money to create a nominal number of jobs – many of which are temporary.”
He continued, “While the Stimulus ultimately may result in the creation of some jobs, the federal decision to risk the Nation’s economic future during a time when we already were teetering on financial Armageddon was nothing more than an attempt to apply a political solution to a serious systemic problem. We can no longer afford to rob Peter to pay Paul whenever we experience the slightest economic discomfort. We must get back to basics and make the hard decisions that will create real and sustainable jobs,” Dold said.
“By cutting taxes, slashing wasteful government spending and lifting the burdens on small businesses, we can get Americans back to work and right the ship of economic recovery.”
