Winnetka, IL -- Today, 10th District Congressional Candidate Robert Dold condemned former White House reporter Helen Thomas’ statements that urged Jews to leave Israel.
“Thomas’ recent comments were ugly, reprehensible and ignorant, and unfortunately were only the latest in a deeply troubling pattern of anti-Israel statements that portray the Israelis as victimizers of Palestinians.”
Helen Thomas has been a consistent critic of a strong U.S.-Israel relationship. As recently as March, 2010, she questioned why America gives “iron-clad commitments to Israel.” In a 2009 interview, she expressed disagreement with American support for Israeli actions of self-defense in Gaza.
