Small business is America’s primary economic engine. Small business entrepreneurs create the majority of new jobs in this country, and their successes are what have brought our nation out of our last seven recessions.
As a small business owner, I understand the challenges and the opportunities facing small business. I know the pressures of meeting a payroll, providing good benefits for employees, and investing in equipment and technology. I also recognize that many business owners are concerned about many of the policies coming out of Washington. They worry about how the health care legislation will impact their ability to provide good benefits for employees, and at what cost. They're concerned that Congress is adding layers of paperwork to their tax requirements, with seemingly little understanding of the real-life implications on their ability to grow and hire new employees.
